Brendan joined the firm as an associate in March 2010 and specializes in civil rights litigation and criminal defense. He earned his Bachelors of Arts (magna cum laude) from the University of Notre Dame in 2002. After college, Brendan worked as a unionized bicycle messenger in San Francisco and was a proud member of the Longshoremen’s Union (ILWU, Local #6). Before starting law school, Brendan managed a small transitional living shelter for refugees, asylum seekers, and immigrants in El Paso, Texas.

After graduating cum laude from the University of New Mexico School of Law, Brendan became a staff attorney for the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) in Albuquerque, New Mexico where he developed a passion for civil rights litigation. At the Rothstein Law Firm, Brendan continues to vigorously litigate civil rights lawsuits involving issues such as: police misconduct, freedom of speech, student’s rights, jail and prison conditions, constitutional rights of non-citizens, wrongful incarceration, and enforcement of federal and state freedom of information laws.

Brendan’s initial training as a civil rights litigator naturally led to his work at the Rothstein Law Firm representing criminal defendants whose constitutional rights have been violated, and in a variety of other plaintiff’s cases, including class actions and mass torts.

Brendan periodically serves as an adjunct professor at the University of New Mexico School of Law teaching a seminar entitled "Immigration & Civil Rights."
