Civil Rights

Civil Litigation

Paul joined the firm in 2016 with over a decade of experience in criminal defense, including trial, appellate and post-conviction litigation, complex litigation, forfeiture actions, and professional licensing and disciplinary matters.

Prior to joining the firm, Paul was with a prominent Albuquerque criminal defense firm for 11 years.  There, Paul successfully represented clients accused of a wide range of crimes, including narcotics offenses, sex offenses, complex white collar offenses such as kickbacks, tax and mortgage fraud, archeological offenses, and homicide and other violent offenses.  His representation included cases prosecuted in all levels of the local, state and federal courts.  In addition, Paul became experienced in complex litigation and developed a knack for assisting individuals with professional licensing issues before state agencies such as the Medical Board, Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners, Gaming Control Board and Racing Commission, as well as federal agencies such as the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Hailing from Chicago, Paul completed his undergraduate work at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.  He came to New Mexico in 2002 in pursuit of a law degree and the legendary steeps of Taos.  The people and thriving cultures of New Mexico led him to settle here permanently.  He now lives in Santa Fe and spends his weekends exploring the mountains, trails, and waterways of the state with his wife and loyal canine companions.
