Paul joined the firm in 2016 with over a decade of experience in complex litigation, criminal defense, professional licensing and disciplinary matters, employment and corporate representation. He specializes in complex litigation and has experience stretching from Albuquerque to Santa Fe and Las Cruces and every corner of the state.  

Paul has successfully represented clients accused of a wide range of crimes in both state and federal courts. His representation includes cases prosecuted in all levels of the local, state and federal courts, including trial, appellate and post-conviction litigation. His experience includes defense of a wide variety of cases, including white collar offenses such alleged governmental fraud and kickbacks, tax fraud, mortgage fraud, embezzlement and archeological offenses, as well as complex narcotics offenses, sexual offenses, and homicide and other violent offenses. Paul also has extensive experience in complex civil litigation, including childhood sexual abuse claims, civil rights claims, wrongful death, whistleblower litigation, and racketeering claims.

Paul's experience serves him well in his representation of clients facing professional licensing issues before state and federal agencies. His unique knowledge and expertise in this area includes representation before federal agencies such as the Drug Enforcement Administration and Securities and Exchange Commission, and before state agencies such as the Medical Board, Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners, Board of Pharmacy, Gaming Control Board, Racing Commission and Alcoholic Beverage Control Division (formerly the Alcohol & Gaming Division).

Paul also has over a decade of experience in general corporate representation, including assistance with employment and contractual matters and licensing issues before the Gaming Control Board, Racing Commission and Alcoholic Beverage Control Division.

Hailing from Chicago, Paul completed his undergraduate work at the University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign. He followed family to New Mexico in 2002 to pursue a law degree and the legendary steeps of Taos. The people and thriving cultures of New Mexico led him to settle here permanently. He now lives in Albuquerque and spends his weekends exploring the mountains, trails and waterways of the state with his family and loyal canine companions.
