The Tempe, Arizona office is seeking a Summer Associate for its Indian law practice. The attorneys in the Tempe, Arizona office practice primarily in the area of federal Indian law, including gaming, economic development, Indian Child Welfare Act, Indian health law, civil litigation and transactional matters. Rothstein Donatelli LLP is committed to advancing the sovereign rights of Native American tribes. 

The Summer Associate will be given a variety of real work assignments and will learn what a career in a boutique Indian law firm entails. The Summer Associate will have the opportunity to observe court and council hearings when appropriate, interact with tribal clients, and receive prompt feedback from each attorney in the Tempe office. The Summer Associate will also be assigned an attorney mentor that can assist the Summer Associate with navigating firm culture and law school objectives. An applicant should be team oriented, easy-going yet ambitious, and eager to serve tribes. The position is in-person with remote work flexibility as needed and approved upon hire. The Firm offers competitive compensation, weekly lunches with attorneys and staff, and an easy-going diverse work environment. Qualifications:

  • Completed 1L or 2L year by Summer 2023
  • Excellent research abilities
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Familiarity with tribal communities and cultures (preferred)
