Meet Megan Dorsey, an associate attorney at our Santa Fe office since 2019. Specializing in state and federal criminal defense and civil rights litigation, she brings valuable experience from her seven-year tenure at the Law Office of the Public Defender. Megan litigated numerous cases, from traffic misdemeanors to serious offenses, and served on the Santa Fe Magistrate Court DWI/Drug Court panel. She was also a voting member of the Santa Fe LEAD Program. Before joining our firm, she also worked as an associate at Egolf, Ferlic, Martinez, & Harwood, handling a diverse range of criminal and civil cases.

In addition to direct client representation, Megan engages is policy work designed to improve the quality of life for all people living in New Mexico. In support of that goal, Megan joined the Board of the New Mexico Innocence and Justice Project in 2024, and she has offered her time to the New Mexico Sentencing Commission since 2019.

Megan has also served as a policy analyst and General Counsel for New Mexico's Speaker of the House of Representatives since 2018, which includes representing former Speaker Brian Egolf and the current Speaker of the House Javier Martinez. In that capacity she has helped support a wide range of legislation, including direct work on the Cannabis Regulation Act, the Criminal Record Expungement Act, and New Mexico's Civil Rights Act. Megan also represented the Citizen's Redistricting Committee in 2021.

Megan graduated with honors in Clinical Law from the University of New Mexico's School of Law in December 2010. Prior to law school, she earned her bachelor's degree in Fine Arts with a minor in Urban Studies from Colorado College.
