The Tempe, Arizona office of Rothstein Donatelli LLP is seeking a summer law clerk for its Indian law practice. Rothstein Donatelli has offices in Santa Fe and Albuquerque, New Mexico, as well as in Tempe, Arizona where we specialize in federal Indian law, including gaming, economic development, Indian Child Welfare Act, Indian health law, civil litigation and transactional matters. The law clerk will be given a variety of real work assignments for tribal clients and will learn what a career in a boutique Indian law firm entails. You will be assigned an attorney mentor but you will be working with and receiving feedback from each of the four attorneys in our Tempe office. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the position can be remote with meetings conducted virtually. There will be a private office available in our Tempe office for use as necessary (with proper COVID-19 safety protocol in place). Our Tempe office is a close-knit team comprised of four attorneys and two staff members. We are looking for a law clerk that is team oriented, easy-going yet ambitious, and eager to serve tribes.
Qualifications:
- Completed 1L or 2L year by Summer 2021
- Excellent research abilities
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Familiarity with tribal communities and cultures
