Robert is a first-year law student at the University of New Mexico School of Law. He grew up in Albuquerque and attended McGill University in Canada for his undergraduate studies, majoring in philosophy and political science, and minoring in Latin American studies. While in Canada, he was a legal intern for a Montreal-based immigration firm. After graduating, Robert moved back to New Mexico, where he taught U.S. history at Española Valley High School. Although he loves teaching, he decided to pursue law and intends to work in the public interest law sector after graduating.

At the University of New Mexico, he is a 1L representative for the Immigration Law Student Association and recently started volunteering with the New Mexico Immigrant Law Center.
