Welcome Alejandro Alvarado - Summer Associate

Alejandro “Alex” Alvarado is a third-year student at the University of New Mexico School of Law (Class of 2024). He recently published his article “Tribes and H-1Bs: Promoting Inclusion of Tribal Interests in Immigration Policy through Employment-based Visas” in Volume 22 of the UNM Tribal Law Journal, and subsequently took on the role of Student Articles Editor the following year. Prior to law school, Alex worked as a paralegal in immigration law and as an administrative clerk for the State of Colorado Ninth Judicial District. His past experience in the legal field, as well as his passion for civil rights led him to attend law school. Alex served as a judicial extern to the Honorable David H. Urias of the United States District Court for the District of New Mexico during the Summer of 2023. He is interested in pursuing a career involving civil rights litigation, criminal defense, immigration law, and Indian law.
